Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of PrayerMap. We've written them in plain language wherever possible — please read carefully before creating an account.
1. Who we are
“PrayerMap,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the operators of christianprayermap.com. “You” means the person using the site, whether as a guest or a registered member. By using PrayerMap, you agree to these terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
2. Eligibility + accounts
You may use PrayerMap as a guest without an account. To create an account, you must be at least 13 years old. Users between 13 and 17 require verifiable parental consent, which we collect at sign-up by emailing a parent or guardian.
You are responsible for keeping your password and sign-in link confidential. If you suspect unauthorized access, contact us immediately at hello@christianprayermap.com.
You agree to give accurate information when signing up. We may suspend or close accounts that appear to be automated, fraudulent, or impersonating another person.
3. What you can do with PrayerMap
You may, free of charge:
- Submit prayer requests, anonymously or under your name.
- Browse the public prayer map and individual prayer pages.
- Keep a personal prayer journal of your own submissions.
- Track other people's public prayers and receive updates.
- Mark your own prayers as answered and add follow-up updates.
- Download your journal as a PDF for personal use.
You may not use PrayerMap to evangelize via spam, sell anything, collect data on other users, run automated scraping, or attempt to break our security controls.
4. Content you submit
When you submit a prayer, update, or any other content (collectively, “User Content”), you keep ownership of it. You grant PrayerMap a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to host, display, and distribute your User Content on the site, in our public feeds, in shared links, and in any official PrayerMap apps, for as long as you keep the content public on PrayerMap. This license ends when you delete the content, except where retention is needed for backups, legal compliance, or to honor others' previously created shares.
You represent that your User Content is yours to share, accurate to the best of your knowledge, and does not violate anyone's rights or these terms.
5. Community standards
PrayerMap is a place of worship and intercession. Please don't submit:
- Personal identifying information about other people without their consent (full names of minors, home addresses, phone numbers, etc.).
- Content that is hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, or threatening.
- Content that promotes self-harm. If you are in crisis, please contact the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (US) or a trusted pastor.
- Spam, advertising, or solicitation for any product or service.
- Content that infringes copyright or trademark.
- False or impersonating prayer requests.
We may remove any content that violates these standards, and we may suspend or close accounts that repeatedly violate them. We try to give people the benefit of the doubt — these are spiritual matters — but we are the final judge of what stays on the site.
6. Public vs. private content
All prayers submitted to PrayerMap are public by default and visible on the map and feed. You can submit anonymously (we hide your name) but the prayer text itself is public. Do not submit anything you would not be comfortable sharing with the worldwide body of Christ.
Your account email address, password, birthday, and parental consent records are private and never displayed on the site.
7. Location data
PrayerMap pins prayers to a city-level location based on city/state/country fields you provide. We add a small random offset within the city so individual prayers do not pin to a specific address. We never collect or display street-level location, GPS coordinates from your device, or browsing-derived location.
8. Member-only features
Some features (the journal, notifications, folder organization, tracking, PDF export) are only available to signed-in members. We may add or change features at any time. Currently all features are free; if we ever add paid features, existing members will receive notice and continue to have free access to the features you already use.
9. Sign-in by email link
We send a one-time sign-in link to your registered email address each time you log in, in addition to checking your password. This is an intentional security measure. Do not share these links with anyone — they grant access to your account.
10. Termination
You may delete your account at any time from Settings. When you do, we delete your profile, notification preferences, folders, and tracking relationships. Your prayer submissions become orphaned: by default they remain on the site under “Anonymous” so that other people who have been praying with you still have access. You can request full deletion of your submitted prayers by emailing hello@christianprayermap.com.
We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms. We'll tell you why, in writing, when we do.
11. Disclaimer
PrayerMap is provided “as is.” We make no warranties that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that any specific prayer will be answered in any particular way. We do not provide pastoral counseling, medical advice, legal advice, or financial advice. If you are in crisis, please reach out to a trusted pastor, counselor, or the appropriate emergency service.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, PrayerMap and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the site. Our total liability for any claim related to PrayerMap is limited to one hundred U.S. dollars (US$100) or the amount you paid us in the past twelve months, whichever is greater.
13. Indemnification
You agree to defend and hold PrayerMap harmless from any claim, loss, or expense (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the site, your User Content, or your violation of these terms.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms when the site materially changes. We'll update the effective date at the top, and for significant changes we'll email registered members. Continued use of PrayerMap after a change means you accept the new terms.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state where the PrayerMap operators reside, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts of that jurisdiction.
